biography

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and a Gulf War veteran, his distinguished military career include leadership positions of high visibility and responsibility in a broad range of international and domestic United States Navy command, operational, and staff assignments.

During the Persian Gulf War, he deployed with the Amphibious Task Force which executed the fastest and largest logistics operation in the history of warfare; pre-positioning ships, and other high-priority combat assets in preparation of Operation Desert Shield.

During Mediterranean Amphibious Ready Group 1-91 (MARG 1-91), along with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)), he participated in the amphibious assault along the coast of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. MARG 1-91 also spearheaded Operation Provide Comfort, which (1) delivered humanitarian aid to the Kurdish refugees fleeing Iraq and (2) enforced the security of the refugees and the humanitarian relief effort.

During Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Provide Comfort, he earned numerous military decorations and official commendations.

During his civilian career, Thomas developed an extensive knowledge of industrial distribution (specifically Maintenance, Repair, Operations, Production), flexible manufacturing technology and engineered composite material advances and their business applications, along with knowing how people and technology work efficiently together. He brings tremendous focus and experience to clients that demand advanced manufacturing management technology to support effective and efficient processes.
